Marking the 21st anniversary of their legendary release, Ash have announced they will be releasing a vinyl reissue of their third studio album ‘Free All Angels’ on 16th September 2022. The album reached number one in the UK at the time of its original release, spawning several massive singles including ‘Burn Baby Burn’ and ‘Shining Light’ – both of which were awarded highly.
The band’s mesmerising debut album ‘1977’ was a defining collection of tracks that hallmarked an era of astounding guitar music during the 90s. Having also reached number one in the UK and achieving platinum status, it also signalled the inception of Ash. Since then, they have released several albums, but none as successful as their third.
In addition to the news of the reissue, Ash have announced a run of very special UK live dates to celebrate the 21st anniversary. During this run, they will be accompanied by the return of guitarist Charlotte Hatherley to perform the iconic album in full.
Drummer Rick McMurray said: “We’re delighted to announce that we will be commemorating the 21st anniversary of the release of our 2001 album Free All Angels. Not least because we will be joined by the fourth member of Ash – guitarist extraordinaire, all-round Shining Light, the one and only Charlotte Hatherley. Can. Not. Wait.”
