South coast stalwarts Last Seen Alive’s latest song ‘Sick’ has become a real favourite with audiences at their shows and it's no surprise why. This October track will chew you up and spit you out if you’re not careful. Perfect for the mosh pit.
Initially starting in ethereal limbo, the tune throttles its way out of its ambient cocoon with punchy guitar and Ellie Robinson’s powerful lead vocals that come seething with character. This catchy tune flies at such a pace and really brings the energy. Their self-admitted influences are noticeable in their work too, from another Ellie’s Wolf Alice (especially the early rockier numbers) to the pungent pop rock essence of Bring Me The Horizon. What’s ever more intriguing with LSA, is their evolution from humble pop punk beginners to energetic mid-2000s flecked pop rockers.
‘Sick’ follows their previous release ‘Dreams’ which achieved acclaim for its anthemic nature and tight production, which is a real credit to the band. Sold out shows have come from hometown Brighton, to the big city lights of London. Yet, remarkably, LSA remain unfazed and seemingly pick up new fans at every new show they play.
Since their formation, the group have played Y Not, Tramlines Fringe and Together Fest – whilst also being finalists of HotVox’s 2020 Newblood ‘Isle of Wight Festival’.
Still not sold? Take a listen for yourself on the band’s Spotify, or just take a look at the brilliant words of top admirers…
