Words: ROBIN MUMFORD
Nailed on to achieve big things, Mimi Webb has this week substantiated her rise to the very top of British music with the release of another song ‘Roles Reversed’ alongside announcing the release of her debut album ‘Amelia’.
Typical of the breakout star, the new track heavily features a gifted vocal set filled with longing and emotion – something that helps to take listeners on a journey through hurt and abandonment.
It follows Mimi’s latest bombshell hit ‘Red Flags’, which has garnered over 19 million streams since its release and continues to climb the charts, currently peaking at #30 in the US Top 40 radio. This success was only rocketed by her performance of the single on Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Graham Norton Show. She is appearing on ITV's Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway this evening too. (Sat the 4th March).
The Amy Winehouse-inspired singer/songwriter has finally released her 12-track debut album that features both singles today. The album is titled after her full first name, Amelia, which will give fans insight into both sides of the budding star- Amelia, the girl from the UK countryside who loves to be at home with her family, friends, and dogs; and Mimi, the pop artist who loves to be up on stage travelling the world.

In a whirlwind two years, Mimi released her debut EP Seven Shades of Heartbreak (October 2021), amassed an international following with multiple hit tracks such as “House on Fire,” and “Good Without,” and became the first British female artist, since Dua Lipa in 2017, to land two singles in the UK Top 15 before her debut album.
Today has felt like a moment every music critic has waited ages for. Finally, we can all put down the pen and just enjoy the biggest moment in Mimi Webb’s career thus far. But we are sure this won’t be the biggest to come.
