Let Go is the first release from Tom Speight following the announcement of his forthcoming album and features the poignant lyrics and yearning, heartfelt melodies that listeners have come to love from London’s melodic storyteller.
On the track, Speight opens up on the themes of heartbreak, wrapped up in a driving, beautifully rhythmic instrumental. He welcomes his audience into an explration of his deepest emotions to create a comforting and intimate space, whilst paying homage to some of his biggest inspirations, such as Damien Rice and John Mayer. When discussing the track, he explained that he’d “touched on things in this record that I’ve never spoken about before; it’s, without a doubt, my most personal to date”.
The songwriter’s advocacy with the UK’s mental health charity, CALM, shines through in his work, demonstrated in his therapeutic lyricism and reflective tones. With these themes already connecting with fans across the globe, it’s no wonder he’s already earned slots supporting the likes of James Bay, Stereophonics and Maisie Peters.
With this powerful new release and a highly anticipated third album, Love & Light, on the horizon, Tom Speight is looking to have a huge 2023 coming up, celebrated by his largest, headline tour to date. Let Go isn’t a track to miss, and Tom Speight certainly is artist to keep both eyes on.
