Despite being released on May 26th, Vanda’s newest release “More Than A Friend” is pertinent now more than ever as the young artist deals with conversations of the LGBTQ+ realisations of falling in love with your best friend and the 'mental gymnastics’ you go through when deciding whether or not to come clean about your feelings.
The electro-pop track is the second from her upcoming debut album and arrives just in time for pride month, thus allowing listeners to feel the full force of a lyric-driven hit.
“More Than A Friend” will certainly provide a sobering account of a feeling that many endure but are unsure how to go about it. Vanda expertly crafts a dear diary type single that helps to comfort those in similar situations.
To support an empowering meaning, the soundscape lifts the creation with textual elements of electronics and ambience to pave a thought-evoking sense of reflection.
By way of a cyclical and constant backing instrumentals, Vanda draws particular attention to the song’s lyrics, and it is because of this that “More Than A Friend” thrives.
It will make up part of her debut album “Sober In Another Life”, which is set to be released later this year.
