Late last year, the exciting and punchy three-piece Dirty Liars released the blistering single 'Nightmare' - a song that has proven to be a fantastic music discovery here at Our Sound Music.
The alt-rock band's last material was back in 2017 when they released their 'Cartoon Killer' EP, a release that is worth searching out, especially for the songs 'Dirty Job' and 'Out Of Control'. Dirty Liars are a band with a tight sound; their musicianship is clear to hear as is their knack for writing direct and memorable tracks, with this latest release, 'Nightmare' being a prime example.
Their sound is very much alt-rock with a vintage twist - well suite to the older generation of younger listeners with a penchant for a classic, retro vibe.
Dirty Liars admittedly wrote 'Nightmare' in haste and was one of the first songs that they wrote together as a new three-piece. It heralded the dawn of a slightly new direction and demonstrates their ability to not just evolve but to be able to craft something almost out of thin air. 'Nightmare' is a direct punch to the gut and its directness is what other songs of this ilk should be striving to replicate.
