'Veil Lifter,' the fourth full-length album by Vancouver-based duo Post Death Soundtrack, marks a significant evolution in their musical journey. Released on April 16, 2024, this 11-track opus delves into themes of mental illness and spiritual awakening, drawing inspiration from Eastern philosophy's concept of "lifting the veil of ignorance."
The album opens with "At The Edge Of It All (Intro)," a brief yet unsettling soundscape that sets a haunting tone. This leads into "The Die is Cast," (our favourite from the album) a track that explodes with relentless energy, blending heavy riffs and pounding drums to create a powerful sonic landscape.
"Arjuna's Hunting Hand" stands out with its ominous undertones and intricate guitar work, reflecting the internal struggle of the Hindu warrior Arjuna from the Bhagavad Gita. The song's dynamic shifts and tense, anthemic vocals encapsulate themes of doubt and duty.

The album closes with "Hammer Come Down," a furious scorcher that leaves no room for prisoners. Swirling guitars and Stephen Moore’s enraged snarl create an atmosphere of righteous anger, culminating in a sense of apocalyptic finality.
Overall, "Veil Lifter" is a masterful album that showcases Post Death Soundtrack's talent for crafting immersive sonic landscapes. Each track offers a unique journey through the depths of human emotion, making it a must-listen for fans of heavy music.
