Liam Gallagher first played in Hull with Oasis in 1994. A lot has changed since then; Oasis went on to dominate the world with dozens of anthems and front man Liam Gallagher has gone on to release two very successful solo albums in his own right.
This ten track album captures both Oasis at their peek and the best of Liam's solo material. Opening with Wall Of Glass, the acoustic re-working of the song immediately works. Some Might Say is accompanied with a piano and Cast No Shadow has never sounded as poignant as it does here.. The album highlights are both Sad Song and Stand By Me; Liam finally provides vocals for his brother Noel sang B-side and on the latter song he sounds both vulnerable and authentic.
The album closes with Champagne Supernova and like all good performances he listener is left wanting more. With just ten songs here from the recorded fifteen, it does feel like he could have added a couple more tracks. ****
