Fresh from being announced as playing at the Creation Day Festival next year alongside Cast, Sleeper, The Happy Mondays and Friendly Fires, The Clockworks are set to round off an exciting 2020 for the band with storming new single Enough Is Never Enough which is out this Friday.
The Galway band are signed to Alan McGee’s Creation 23 label and first came to our attention with their last release, Can I Speak To A Manager?
Enough Is Never Enough is indie rock tinged with straight up punk rock.
Speaking about the track James of The Clockworks says:
“This was the last song we wrote in Ireland. I’d been working on the lyrics for ages. I like to write about the social or emotional by writing about a specific character or scene. I think focusing on the particular and the specific is the best way to get to the general and abstract… Musically, this song was all about getting the feeling right. We wanted it to be forceful and relentless but also for there to be enough space for melody and emotion.”
The band relocated to London last year and have supported Kings Of Leon as well as appearing on Soccer AM.
Enough Is Never Enough is the band's hardest hitting release to date, packed with heavy riffs and contemporary social commentary in the lyrics. Watch out for our review on Friday as part of our weekly single reviews.
