SLOWRIDE recently released their debut single ‘I Feel Like You’, a synth laden indie pop instant classic. The song was produced by Rob Slater (Ellie Goulding) and the production here is what sets the song apart from contemporaries. ‘I Feel Like You’ has a straight in the vein injection of synth pop - followed by a strong melody and a hook filled chorus.
Slowride are Ali Epstone (vocals) and Phil Jones (guitars/synths) who both have a love for 90’s music. Drummer Tomas Oliver Moore completes the line up.
In a recent interview the band said about the song: “It’s about feeling powerless to be controlled. In the context of a relationship, an addiction or the censorship of free speech. It’s about awareness of one’s situation and learning to take the power back.” But they add the title can also be projected onto the current situation. “No matter what we’re all individually going through, there’s certainly a collective connection between humanity right now.”
The song is a cinematic, confident debut release and leaves the listener eager to hear more from the band. ‘I Feel Like You’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
