Indie Pop band, Victoria Sponge, have released their first single of the year.
Their new single, called ‘Talk About Tonight (Radio Edit)’ is the band’s first release since their EP, ‘FILTHY PURE’, which received critical success in late 2020.
The Glasgow quintet have been gradually building their profile over the last year - releasing a single and an EP. The band also managed to squeeze in some gigs pre-COVID; performing at King Tut’s 2020 New Year Revolution amongst others. The band’s sound takes inspiration from acts like The Smiths and Kate Bush; sounding like a heavier version of the former on their latest EP.
Their new track, ’Talk About Tonight (Radio Edit)’, has already caught the attention of Amazing Radio prior to its release, and has received a healthy amount of airplay within the first week of submission. Arguably their most exciting track to date, it’s a shorter, snappier edit of the song of the same title on ‘FILTHY PURE’ and features driven drums, Marr-inspired guitar and excitable, Reverend and the Makers style vocals.
