Pennsylvania native, up-and-coming singer/song-writer Rae Radick released the fourth single ‘Circle Game’, from her upcoming debut EP (out in September) on 9th April. The self proclaimed love child of Kacey Musgraves and Keith Urban blends country, pop and rock to tackle issues we face as a society through her lyrics. It’s the perfect blend of upbeat instrumentals with authentic song-writing.
Rae has been singing and writing from the age of sixteen, and regularly tours internationally. She’s had impressive features across a number of blogs, radio stations and has performed at a number of venues across NYC from Shea Stadium to Rockwood Music Hall.
With her influences ranging from Kelly Clarkson to Fleetwood Mac, Radick certainly knows how to create her own sound, in her own words, “with a dash of New York City.”
‘Circle Game’ is a misleadingly uptempo, foot tapping track on the surface but the lyrics go into the toxic relationship between social media and mental health. Radick goes into how social media platforms are full of filtered, ‘perfect’ versions of ourselves – playing ‘the game’. I definitely hear the influences of rock with a Kacey Musgraves vibe but unlike the sweetness of Musgraves, Radick has a powerful, fierce voice that blends perfectly with the country/rock sound.
The fabulous music video for 'Circle Game' premiered yesterday and can be viewed below.
‘Circle Game’ is available now on streaming platforms, and Rae Radick’s debut EP is out this September.
