Liverpool-based solo artist, Lee Ford, has recently released his debut single.
After spending time in several bands, Lee has now taken full control of his sound and his new track, ‘My Best Friend’, draws influences from a number of artists.
The track was produced by Jay Gaugler in the SAE institute and, according to the artist, is an ode to a childhood friendship of his that has lasted the ages and the Liverpudlian hopes it’s a song people can relate to.
The song quickly indicated that it succeeds in resonating with the audience when it was featured on BBC Introducing Merseyside two weeks before its release. As well as that, the track has received regular airplay on various stations and has gained praise from a number of publications.
Musically, the track has a poignant Liverpool sound and draws influences from Lee’s hometown heroes; there are echoes of both The La's and The Coral that really give the track a nostalgic vibe.
Lee is keen to develop his sound on the live stage too; he’s currently arranging a string of live shows to make an impact on the live music scene. He also told Our Sound Music that he’s got a catalogue of songs in the locker ready for release soon.
‘My Best Friend’ is available to listen below and is also available on all major streaming platforms.
