BY ROBIN MUMFORD OF THE INDIE PLUG
Eden Dawn, an experimental pop artist from Plymouth, is back with her second ethereal soundscape release of 2021. Entrenching you with her ambient sounds with her fatally alluring voice, you will be hard pressed to discover a song that is more tantalizing than ‘Indigo Dusk.’
After feeling like she was starting to sound too commercial, in the sweeping dilemma of wanting to please others, and unavoidably falling into the marketability trap, Eden Dawn has rediscovered her unique touch of musical magic to present us with a new track that effectuates her desires of writing spirituous lyrics in a genre that she loves.
"Indigo Dusk is about the appreciation for life and that point between evening and night when the sun is setting and you get the most beautiful colours in the sky."
With her influences stemming from Bjork to Kate Bush, to Mitski and Leah Dou, Eden Dawn has found her own niche through the production of music using her Logic Pro X. Despite only starting out as a musician in April 2020, with no formal training to flaunt, the Plymouth-based creator already shares a profusion of sounds on a range of streaming platforms. Eclectic and experimental, there’s already an EP for you to uncover, and as V13 rightfully points out, Eden Dawn is "An intelligent artist with a high musical IQ, she has found her own escape through her beautiful and divine soundscapes."
This latest release will form as a part of her upcoming EP and, although her solo music journey was a product of the 2020 lockdown period, with every track written, composed, recorded and mixed by herself, she hopes to one day perform them to a crowd.
'Indigo Dusk' is out today on all major streaming platforms.
