Twenty year-old singer/songwriter and rapper, Charlie Baker released his debut single ‘Better With Me’ earlier this month. The young musician had the new track played exclusively by BBC Music Introducing Essex and listed as a top 5 track for BBC Introducing East’s Euro 2020 playlist. Baker has also racked up a following on TikTok, with over 500,000 likes across his account including covers and original content.
Speaking on the new single, Baker said: “girls should be treated with respect in the right way and shouldn’t waste their time on anyone who isn’t on their wavelength. I want my music to provide uplifting confidence and for people to be themselves and know their worth.”
‘Better With Me’, an RnB/pop track is about a girl being treated badly in a relationship, the protagonist – a friend and admirer, believes she would be ‘better with him’. It’s definitely a song that sounds like it’s been created for the summer, and will no doubt be making the rounds on peoples’ playlists. Charlie’s unique vocals, fusion of genres and the strumming guitar riff make for a promising debut.
We’re expecting to hear more from Baker later this year as he’s recording and has a plethora of material written up to follow ‘Better With Me’.
'Better With Me' is out now on all major streaming platforms and you can also listen to the track below.
