Dean Dovey, a Birmingham-based singer/songwriter has today released his fifth single release since he started his endeavours in April 2020. Inspired predominantly by Richard Ashcroft, Noel Gallagher and Tom Petty, ‘Borrowed Time’ is an atmospheric anthem just waiting to be blared out loud.
The latest track, which features a consistent and conservatively strummed guitar riff, brought to life by Dovey’s vocal verve, will form part of his mini album that he Is in the process of piecing together for release later this year.
‘Borrowed Time’ may have many underlying meanings, but what makes it so relatable is the fact that the vivacious songwriter has left the signification of the lyrics to be figured out by his listeners. For us, the stories told within the harmonies express a feeling of frustration towards the lack of time left in our life. Perhaps the song is looking to inspire the listeners to make the most of the time we have on earth? However, we encourage you to let your mind wonder, allowing you to make your own meaning.
We have no doubt that you will love this song as much as we do - it is a perfect enigma to a rollercoaster of emotions, but which meaning will you uncover and find most befitting?
'Borrowed Time' is out today on all major streaming platforms.
