Singer -songwriter- Kat Reinhert has released her folk-tinged new single, 'Behind'. With its soaring chorus and remarkable vocal, the track is huge in scope. Following on from her recent album 'Dead Reckoning', this new single is a slight change in sound for the New York based performer.
Influenced by Joni Mitchell (which is evident) and John Mayer, Reinhert has crafted a a song that is introspective yet joyous. 'Behind' was written before the pandemic and produced in Nashville. The singer says that the song is a message to her younger self: "“I, and I think many women, struggle with showing our whole selves to the world. The music industry and even more so, society, so often tells us we’re supposed to be one thing, to follow one path. Similar to my recent album, I’m continuing to offer ides to help others who long to find a place where we belong. This song is a letter to my younger self – telling her things I wish someone had shared with me – that it was ok to forge your own path – and that in doing so, your life will be filled with experiences and journeys that lead you to find joy.”
Reinhert's album 'Dead Reckoning' was released early this year and received positive reviews, with notable comments on how engaging it is. Reinhert is passionate about helping others to discover their musical talents and she is a sought-after voice specialist and songwriting tutor, co-founding Songwriting For Music Educators.
