Magic Sugar Coffee have joined forces with English indie folk artist Joshua Howlett to release their new self produced track “BLKOUT”.
“BLKOUT” was inspired by the US and English pop punk scenes from the 2000’s and takes the band, along with their listeners back to childhood memories of the scene and serves as their contribution to bringing Pop Punk back to the charts.
Magic Sugar Coffee formed after meeting in Switzerland in 2019 at the Relief Studios in Fribourg where “BLKOUT” was recorded, mixed and self produced by Nick Axel Kauffman (Bass, Guitar, Keys & Drums). Fellow band member Mathew Newsam ( Vocals, Guitar & Bass) appears alongside Nick & Switzerland based English indie folk artist Joshua Howlett.
“BLKOUT” the collaboration written by Howlett and Magic Sugar Coffee’s Nick and Mathew is filled with a strong presence of guitar and has a fast tempo with a no nonsense feel and an in your face vibe. The track also delivers with relatable lyrics whilst getting across the edgy nature of a classic pop punk song.
Magic Sugar Coffee take influence from Machine Gun Kelly, Waterparks, YUNGBLUD and All Time Low, with these influences evident in the new release. With COVID hampering plans, the band are yet to perform live but are sure to please when the time comes. Amassing an impressive 600 000 views on Tik-Tok for previous release “Dogs”, and having all tracks gain airplay, highlights the positive future of the band.
“BLKOUT” the new collaboration from Magic Sugar Coffee and Joshua Howlett is out now on all streaming platforms.
