“Say Something”, the new release from The Canvas Collective, sees the band changing lanes with musical genre , moving away from their alt rock/grunge sound to make a more pop based sound.
Recorded at home, “Say Something” was produced, mixed and mastered by Luke Aymon. The track is given a retro feel with its rhythm set along with a juicy bass line and takes the listener on an energetic , fast-paced journey.
“Say Something” was written in response to the terrible time experienced as a band when recording their first EP. With a group of people not caring about their actions which held the group back , the track serves as an open letter to those people and what the band would say to them today.
The Canvas Collective release tracks which are personal to them and
this new single is no different. With their previous EP dealing with personal issues and androgyny, the band truly put meaning behind their lyrics.
The Canvas Collective consists of Kris Wong (Guitar/Synth/Bass) , Zack Brody (Drums) and Mandy Kessler (Vocals) and they were all students at Berklee College of Music. Not letting distance get in their way the band lived across different states yet managed to keep pursuing their passion for music.
