Danny Mellin released his new EP this week. The EP’s title ‘Streets of Nowhere’ is taken from the lyrics of his most successful single to dare ‘See You Around. It encapsulates magnificently the archetypal situations of the everyday reflected in the hugely relatable and acutely observed lyrics of Danny’s awe-inspiring music.
‘Streets of Nowhere’ binds together all the songs Danny has recorded with his band in collaboration with Indi B Productions. As he explains: “It felt like a good time to collate the tracks I’ve recorded over the past 18 months. It feels like a single body of work, and I thought it should be presented as one.”
Already a regular festival performer, Danny Mellin, who released his first single at only fourteen-years-old, shows that his youthful charisma has never slowed down in the latest addition to his irresistibly catchy collection of music. It is a treasury of undeniable musical talent that firmly sits as a one to watch in the expansive indie genre.
While real live gigs have been far and few between, Danny has been able to perform some of the tracks on the EP on several live streamed shows over the various lockdowns. As far as his new material goes, he has received critical acclaim and has accumulated multiple plays on BBC Introducing and various other local radio stations.
Talking about the EP himself, Danny explains: “I’m really happy with the way these songs came out. It’s definitely the best stuff I’ve done so far and a clear progression of my songwriting from the times before I had the band.”
He adds: “I’ve also written loads of new songs during the pandemic, and I’m really excited to start work on those next.”
Danny launches the praiseworthy EP in conjunction with a headline show at Fat Lil’s in Witney, Oxfordshire, where there will be limited edition CD versions available and very limited edition 12” clear vinyl versions released.
'Streets Of Nowhere' is out now on all major streaming platforms.
