“The A Plus” the new Nerd Rock Anthem from Coastal Town is the track no-one asked for however Coastal Town have delivered it anyway and with aplomb.
“The A Plus” is dropped in time with schools starting up once again after the summer months and is a motivational song made to pump you up for the return.
Coastal Town are a multigenerational group from Vancouver BC and the majority of the band are still in high school, explaining the narrative of the track. Receiving strong mentorship from their local music community from the likes of Kelly Brown, Jacob Seyer and Kris Schulz the band have continued to develop their own sound.
Making moves towards a lyric-driven alternative/Indie-pop sound , Coastal Town’s songwriting process is fluid, with the lyrics being guided by where the song takes them.
Coastal Town’s first album is due for release this year and was produced by Big Naked Guitarist and producer Doug Fury.
