To celebrate “FTHC”, his ninth studio album, Frank Turner has announced an intimate record store tour. Marking a new chapter in his career, “FTHC” follows Turner’s success with four Top 5 albums, playing to over 2 million fans worldwide at nearly 3000 shows, from grassroots venues to the O2 and Wembley Arenas.
“FTHC” is due for release on Friday the 11th of February via Xtra Mile Recordings/Polydor and sees Frank Turner’s first album since “No Man’s Land” in 2019.
Recorded at Abbey Recording Studios, “FTHC” was produced and mixed by Rich Costey (Muse, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro) and moves across genres from folk to punk, hard rock and singer songwriter confessionals.
“FTHC” kicks off with Turner’s recent single “The Gathering” which features Jason Isbell and Muse’s Dom Howard. “Fatherless” sees Frank reflecting upon a childhood trauma and is an extremely revealing track, whilst “A Wave Across A Bay” plays the perfect tribute to the late Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit) a friend of Frank’s.
Turner massively supported the live music scene during the pandemic, playing numerous livestream benefit shows with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of small venues across the country. Raising almost £300,000, Frank was awarded the Outstanding Achievement For Grassroots Music Venues by the Music Venue Trust.
