Released via BMG, “Fever Dreams Pts 1-4” the new double album from the legendary Johnny Marr, is out now. To celebrate the release of this new collection from Johnny, he held a week long tour of indie record shops across the UK for in person album signings. The meet and greets saw Johnny meeting his fans in Piccadilly Records (Manchester), Rough Trade East and West (London), Resident Records (Brighton), Rough Trade (Nottingham), Bear Tree Records (Sheffield) before the final leg of the mini tour in Jumbo Records ( Leeds).
“Fever Dreams Pts 1-4” sees Marr releasing his impressive 4th solo album after the success of previous album releases in 2013 with “The Messenger”, “Playland” in 2014 and the more recent album “Call The Comet” in 2018. With the title of the album giving it away, it is no surprise to hear that the album is split into four chapters with all 16 songs coming together to make Marr’s first ever double album.

Explaining the album and its sound Marr said: “ here’s a set of influences and a very broad sound that I’ve been developing - really since getting out of The Smiths until now, and I hear it in this record. There are so many strands of music in it. We didn’t do that consciously, but I think I’ve got a vocabulary of sound. And I feel very satisfied that I’ve been able to harness it.” With this statement, fans can be assured they are getting a new version of Marr whilst he draws on his different inspirations. The album is a collection of songs that showcase Marr’s stellar career and has such diversity and hard hitting , emotional lyrics and musically see’s him release what he feels is modern music.
With the release of the album, Johnny has also announced his return to performing live with the news he will headline the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival on the 3rd of April in Cardiff, before he takes to the stage in Kingston-Upon-Thames via Banquet Records for a sold out show at Przym.
