OSM: Hi Amber, you started performing at a young age - fifteen - has music always been your passion and did you grow up with music in your house?
I can always remember music playing. I have memories of being a toddler and bopping to “Let’s Groove” By earth wind and fire and always having the desire to perform to my family! I’ve also always been attracted to music when i was younger I would join any music related club possible and always sign myself up to musical things!

OSM: Your new single ‘Tightrope’, is out now. What was the songwriting and recording process of the track?
I remember it being in between my A-level mocks, i was a bit worked up with revision. I wanted to have a break from it and instead decided to pen up tightrope. I sent the demo off and it had a great reaction from my producer where we started the recording process which took months due to me constantly being ill.

OSM: What is the general theme of ‘Tightrope’, is there an overall message?
I guess the theme of tightrope is the idea of rebellion with risk but feeling great about it!

OSM: You have performed a staggering over 250 live shows - do any in particular standout as being memorable?
I recently performed in Brighton supporting Simon Webbe and Lee from Blue, that was amazing!!

OSM: What challenges have you faced since launching your career?
Being heard is a strong one. There is so much talent around and fighting for your spot in various aspects is a huge challenge.

OSM: You have had your previous single ‘No Company’ played by Sir Elton John on his radio show - how did that feel to be recognised and championed by such a legend and do you consider that to be the highlight of your career so far?
It still doesn’t feel real. To be complimented by someone so notorious and inspirational was so flattering for me as well as encouraging in the sense that what i’m doing is being recognised by people as talented as Elton John. It is definitely a highlight.

OSM: What are the plans for the year ahead for yourself, do you have any live performances scheduled?
Live gigs are constantly popping up all the time and I’m so excited to finally perform my own material live.

OSM: If you could change anything about the industry what would it be?
I feel in current times there is so much focus on numbers and followers that the focus of people’s music and lyrics are completely lost especially if you are not a big influencer or musician with crazy followers . If i could change that I definitely would!

OSM: If you could share the stage with another band or performer who would it be?
Wow that’s tough. I have a huge appreciation for The 1975 and love their whole stage aesthetic that would be pretty cool.

OSM: What songs are on your playlist right now, which songs are you into at the moment?
Similarly to a lot of people i adore Sam Fender and have done for a long time he is a constant on repeat in my household. I’m also really enjoying inhalers discography as well as broken by Tears For Fears.
