OSM: Hi Harry, how long have you been performing and writing music?
I’ve been writing music since quite young at 13/14 and been playing it live for 2-3 years now.
OSM: Has any particular artist or genre influenced your music the most?
The shoe gaze scene was something I was brought up on and I think that has massively influenced the attitude in my music.
OSM: Your new single, ‘Dogbone’ is out now. What was the songwriting and recording process of the track?
So I made that initial idea of this song with a producer called Seton Daunt, sick guy. We actually made the first verse and chorus of it well before we got fully finished.
OSM: What is the theme of the song, what is its message?
The theme of the song is a story really, a story of having to stay away from a certain relationship that’s explosive and exciting but that’s also quite volatile and unpredictable at the same time.
OSM: What challenges have you faced since launching your career?
I think consistency is always hard but that comes down to all aspects of life, it takes a lot to just keep on cracking in with it.
OSM: You toured with Bad Nerves and you have also completed a tour of your own - how does it feel to perform your songs live? Do you have any shows coming up?
Performing my songs is probably the most thrilling aspect of this career for me. The journey the song takes from page to stage is so exciting and rewarding. And yes! my next show is on the 28th July at a really fun night called the Mother Wolf Club. Then my next big headline is in September at the Groucho and I’m buzzing for that.
OSM: What are the plans for the year ahead for yourself?
So there’s gonna be another single coming out in Autumn and in between that I am gigging and getting on stage as much as possible, can’t get enough at the moment.
OSM: If you could change anything about the industry what would it be?
I guess it would be that it wasn’t so social media based, although recently I’ve just been getting into the nack of banging everything I do straight on there haha
OSM: If you could share the stage with another band or performer who would it be?
I’d actually love to support or come out and sing a song with Declan McKenna, obsessed with his music at the moment
OSM: What songs are on your playlist right now, which songs are you into at the moment?
So yeah again, Declan Mckenna and his album Zeros are my absolute jam right now, you can catch me on any london tube vibing hard to it with my airpods in.
