Half the world away but still right at home - Aussies Stand Atlantic embark on their biggest U.K. tour to help celebrate the release of album number 4, ‘Was Here’. Sold out shows starting to fill up the poster, the tour rolls into Glasgow’s east end for a sell out in the iconic Saint Luke’s.

A stacked bill with two of the most exciting new bands to hit the stage. From pop-punk chops to slick hooks, this show had everything you could possible want from the selection of bands on show. A lengthy queue prior to doors filled with eager fans ready and waiting to pack out the venue.

First up to kick things off is our first taste of Australia of the night - Melbourne pop punk 4-piece Slowly Slowly get the ball rolling with a diverse set giving first time viewers a taste of what they were all about. Despite this being the first time in the U.K., the fans singing their songs would suggest they’ve done this for years making this even more pleasing to watch. Tonight was the perfect time to showcase what was set to come from the upcoming record ‘Forgiving Spree’ that’s due for release early 2025. Their live show is delivered with sheer perfection making it difficult to ever look away. The intensity on the stage never dropped and was kept to a high standard throughout, singer Benjamin Stewart made sure the Glasgow crowd were leaving remembering the name. The Aussies have came a long way in the last few years and it’s easy to see why they’re so talked about. Now that they’ve tackled the U.K., it’s time to turn attentions to the upcoming headline tour.

From U.K. newcomers to a band who are close to having a home from home here - LA pop punk icons Honey Revenge are quickly building their own empire here and their live show is quick proof as to why. Their high energy is infectious that’s lead by the always happy and smiley Devin Papadol who never stops for their duration that they are on stage, constant dance moves with the occasional two step thrown in there is just one of the many things that make the live experience as fun as it is. Dropping their debut album last year, they have went from strength to strength achieving some major slots along the way.

For the first time of the night, the pits open with command from Devin who wants to keep the party going. Circle pits leading to a sea of crowd surfers flying over the barrier at any chance they got screaming the lyrics on their way. Despite having covering every inch of the stage, Devin takes a visit into the crowd while performing ‘Worst Apology’ taking from their debut ‘Retrovision’ There is just something so loveable about this band - watching how happy they all are on stage spreads throughout the room, each song sung with so much passion and joy. Everything they produce just echos why they are one of the most exciting bands around right now.

After two very high energy supports and a strong selection of bangers blasting through the PA, it was time for tonight’s headliners to take to the stage. With such an overwhelming amount of love towards their new album ‘Was Here’ Stand Atlantic hit the stage on probably the strongest form of their career. Within seconds of walking on stage, they received a rowdy reception from the sold out crowd - straight away it was an indication of what tonight’s show had in store. Lead singer Bonnie Fraser never once faltered as she bounced around the stage throughout the night while her other band members mirrored that energetic attitude for every song.

Carrying on from the previous support, the crowd continued to bring the chaos with wave after wave of crowd surfers at any chance they got, with the numbers relentless at times, a huge shoutout is needed for the professionalism and care from the security in the pit who handled this in the best possible way. The set itself was filled with a lot of the new album seeing ruthless bangers ‘Warzone’ & ‘Nosebleed’ making appearances both sending the crowd into a frenzy. Bonnie’s stage presence really is to the highest standard, her passion shows with every song she sings and is matched by the loyal fans who have packed out the venue - watching down from the balcony, there is just a sea of happiness upon so many faces showing the importance and love towards the band.

The evening was concluded in euphoric style - the 2017 iconic ‘Coffee at Midnight’ kicked off the encore before Devin Papadol of Honey Revenged joined the Aussies on stage to collaborate on ‘Girl$’, the perfect way to end off on the night and showing even together on stage, the energy from Bonnie and Devin is very much in sync as they dance their way around the stage with cheesing smiles across their face. Two of best vocalist in the alt scene coming together for an incredible moment of joy. This evenings show just epitomises why these bands are selling out venues across the U.K. - each different in their own way but produce the perfect execution of their live shows.
