EINSAM Celebrates Third Single Release From New EP 'Actionism'

'Something Happened' is the standout single by Bristol-based artist Einsam, released on December 6, 2024. This track serves as the third single from his debut EP 'Actionism', which also features previous releases "Fill Your Boots (More Life)" and "Motivation."

Einsam is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Sam Jackson. He blends post-punk grit with leftfield pop sensibilities with a definite artistic intelligence. The name "Einsam," which means "solitary" in German, is an apt description of the talented songwriters introspective work.

After a four-year stint in Vienna, he returned to Bristol in 2020, bringing with him a wealth of ideas about life, language, and the human experience. These experiences translate into his releases thus far and is the underlying theme of the new EP. 'Something Happened' explores the transition from inertia to action and for those just discovering Einsam, it serves as a warm welcome. The  invitation to explore his previous releases presents itself, welcoming the listener to become engrossed in his musical journey.

Einsam himself describes his single 'Something Happened' as a "fizzy paean to getting going," - perhaps an autobiographical take on his own career, which now certainly has momentum. The track is a mix of sharp guitar work that is moulded with an electronic rhythm. This creates a complexity that works brilliantly. Produced by Dom Mitchison of Spectres, it is obvious that a lot of dedication has gone into the final result.

Deep and intelligent, not just musically but lyrically, 'Something Happened' is a great track that sits proudly on Einsam's EP, 'Actionism'.

'Something Happened' is available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon. You can listen to the track below and also as part of our playlist.
