LA Based Singer-songwriter Specific Coast has today released his new acoustic, indie-folk single 'Wasn't Love'. This new single follows up his well received previous release, 'Home' which featured on the Netflix series 'Ginny & Georgia'.
Specific Coast is Matt Dunne. Dunne has been involved in the music industry for some time, in more behind the scenes roles. Picking up the guitar at the aged of thirteen, he has previously worked in artist management and concert promotion, before now embarking on a career of his own.
'Wasn't Love' is a melancholic track that immediately captures your attention. The acoustic sound is crisp and the chord structure makes the song sound almost foreboding - the use of a crisp electric guitar to accentuate the chord changes as the song moves from the verse adds an element of dark sadness.
About his new single, the talented performer says: "Wasn’t Love’ might be my most relatable song I’ve written. Everyone has experienced a relationship ending too soon. Maybe it’s bad timing. Maybe it’s a childish fight or a miscommunication. Either way, someone gets hurt. The song itself feels ancient to me. I wrote it in 2016 when I was struggling with relationships, both romantic and platonic.”
'Wasn't Love' further solidifies Specific Coast's growing reputation as a formidable songwriter, both in the US and on these shores; BBC Scotland have played his previous release and the LA native can now add Our Sound Music to his list of outlets championing his music.
'Wasn't Love' is out now on all major streaming platforms and can be streamed now at the embedded link below.
