Solo artist, Alice Pisano, has marked the end of lockdown with the release of her upbeat new single, the third she’s dropped this year.
The new track, aptly named ‘Open Up’, showcases a slight deviation from its predecessor; ‘Seventeen’ was dropped earlier this year and drew from more acoustic sounds and influences, while the new track sees Alice embrace a more synth lead sound.
Though its lyrics don’t actually put the looming end of the pandemic at the fore, it’s clear from the off that Alice wants the song to sound joyous. Her use of synths aid her in creating an uplifting and feel-good atmosphere and the track’s sound stays well clear of the lamentation that fans of the singer have previously seen.
Speaking about the new single, Alice said: “I wanted to write an uplifting love song, both lyrically and musically… something to get people moving and in a good mood.”
"I kept the lyrics quite simple, like I wish love was”
The London singer first began making a name for herself back in 2019, when her debut EP received support from both local and national radio.
‘Open up’ builds on this success and arrives following significant achievements throughout the year for Alice; her previous two releases (released independently) were supported by Spotify with editorial playlistings, while also charting on the iTunes Pop Chart.
2021 looks like a bright one for the singer, and though not about lockdown, the new track sees her opening up her sound as well as the summer.
'Open Up' is out now on all major streaming platforms and you can listen to the track via the embedded stream below.
