“Paper Tigers” is an indie=pop lament remarking on the stresses that consume one’s energy day by day. The tigers represent the preoccupations you experience in life that may appear threatening but are in fact ineffectual. Inspired by waking in the middle of the night completely filled with terror as a result of an anxiety attack, “Paper Tigers” was the positive that came of a horrid experience.
The Infinite Daisy Chains came about initially as a meeting at a rehearsal in a dimly lit garage to marriage five years later and is made up of husband and wife duo Ian Dandridge and Kristina Westernik-Dandridge. A talented couple with Kristina taking the lead on vocals alongside drum machines, electronic music production and violin whilst Ian provides backing vocals, synths, bass guitar, electronic music production and guitar.
The lyrics were developed in a songwriting class that Kristina attended with the Femme Rock organisation based in Austin, Texas. The mission of Femme Rock is to inclusively promote music education and provide a safe place for woman (cis/trans/nb) to explore creativity and gain confidence.
“Paper Tigers” was recorded and produced by the dynamic duo in their bedroom studio in Washington DC and was mixed by Omar Yakar Jr. (Engineer for The War On Drugs, Warpaint) and Jake Ingalls (Space Face) with Mike Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, KWKA) mastering the track.
“Paper Tigers” is the second single by The Infinite Daisy Chains from their upcoming EP “Between You and Me” which is out on 22nd October 2021. The duos meditative moods of downtempo gel perfectly with soaring vocals, driving beats and washed out guitars to give listeners an expansive dreamy pop energy and a sound unique to only them.
The new single follows their previous success of appearing on Ambition Radio Podcast , collaborating with a NY Times Best Seller to create binaural beats/isochronic tones for her voice over guided meditations and featuring within Lunar Magazine.
With an upcoming EP Release Party in Washington DC’s Comet Ping Pong on October the 22nd, The Infinite Daisy Chains new single “Paper Tigers” is out now on all major streaming platforms.
